In our school, grades 3-5 will be moving from separate Reading, Language, and Writing blocks to one 120 minute block for the three. Since it's summer break and all, I can't seem to get my mind to work with me on this, as I'm really just seeing a block with less time that all the parts separated. I know there's bound to be someone out there who already has type of block of time does it successfully. I'm wondering how you make it work in your favor and really benefit the students. When do you do each part and how do you / your students spend that time?
