I am a new Preschool Teacher and I wanted to give the students who are headed off to kindergarten next year a meaningful little gift... I was wondering if anyone had an age-appropriate gift (not too expensive) what they could use during the summer. Thanks

I just gave my students a little gift bag filled with:
    -and other tinkets
I also bought a balloon from a grocery store saying I'll miss you and tied it to the bag with their name on it and so it went up and they all got theirs. They loved it!

I got free books with my bonus points from Scholastic-
Also you could create 'stationary' on word processing, copy in colored paper, tie with pretty ribbon, add a sparkly pencil
Goodie bags with pencils, stickers, candy, note!

I bought my children state maps from the dollar tree (they seemed to be pretty good quality)! Also, what I do, Is make a "year book" for them. Though...this is more for the parents. I take pictures of the kids throughout the year, samples of their work and art and make a book for each child. It's a lot of work and take all year, but, it's worth it.
