Our last day consisted of what we call a "Turn a-around day". Kids and parents come to say good-bye and pick up their report cards. It's a very nice time to say good-bye and give individual hugs.

We have an extra recess and ice cream party that will last 30 minutes, plus a slide show during the last hour. Other than that... it's all up to me!

    Ideas on what to do?!?!

    Award Ideas

Can anyone recommend a good link for ideas for award certificates. I usually give each of my 1st graders an award certificate. I already have the usual (ie star reader, most creative writer, best in math) but I need some ideas for others. I feel brain dead and can't remember what I did last year. :dizzy: Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Our last day is great. We have a shortened school day (dismissal is at 12:30). We (all the K classes) have an end of the year concert at 9:00 that lasts until about 10:00. We encourage (ha) the parents to sign their children out after the concert to celebrate this special day. This year, I had 3 children left after the concert and my teaching partner had none! I make the rest of the special for the remaining children, but I can get alot done with just 3 kids! They love it because they get to do all kinds of things they were never allowed to do before.
