Just curious - Are you required to test each of your students' reading level for the end of the year? Our administration requires every single student in the school to be tested (last year, even those on the highest level still had to be tested..!!!), which is a huge burden for teachers. I end up doing most of the assessments in the upper grades, as I am the school reading specialist. This means I am not going to get to see the students on my caseload maybe ever again. Anyway, I understand the testing needs to be done. What I don't understand is how other schools manage to get their assessments done. Unless your students have excellent behavior and never need redirection, I don't understand.
