are you looking for something the kids sing, or are you putting together a picture/music presentation for the kids?

I've used the one that goes with the Adams family tune- The Kindergarten Class. It's cute and it's not hard to learn. They like the actions that go with it.
I've also used Armstrong's What a wonderful world. I had the kids illustrate the song...so when we sang it, they would hold up their picture that corresponded. That was cute but took a lot of time and practice to get it just right!
May there always be sunshine is another one I may use this year.

One year we sang that song "My There Always Be Sunshine." We sang it in English and Russian. Very pretty! It was the last song of our program. We usually sing about 7 songs. This year I would like to add a skit of The Three Little Pigs, but is would require a lot of work on props and I don't know if I'm that ambitious.

Oh and i have that song What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong. I love the song and really think your idea of doing it with props is a good thought. I'll have to consider that one. I am also thinking about "You've Got a Friend" (James Taylor,) but we'll see. There are so many good ones, but getting a program together is quite a challenge!

Thanks guys! We are doing some plays in late May and want to sing some songs as a class. I think I will go with Wonderful world and the Addams Family song. I found it on the internet. goes like this:

    Addams’ Family Song

(tune of Addams’ Family-snap fingers on the “clicks”)

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    We learned our ABC’s

    And counting 1, 2, 3’s.

And now we know all these,

    The kindergarten class.

And we learned how to share.

And we learned how to care.

Just ask us if you dare,

    The kindergarten class.

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    It seems we’ve just begun

    And now we’re almost done.

This year’s been so much fun!

    The kindergarten class.

But we must say so long.

    With this our little song.

But we’ll be back ‘fore long.

    The kindergarten class.

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh,

    Duh-duh-duh-duh, click, click

Here are some songs and poems I have used.
    Poems
    1. The Teacher's Garden
In the year _____, sometime before September
You came into my class, how well I remember.
Some of you were smiling and giggling a lot
Some were very quiet and a few tears I could spot.
You were all in my garden just waiting to grow
So this gardener got busy with her rake and her hoe.
I fed you the water and let in the sun
You took in the soil, but we had only begun.
Each day as I worked in this garden of mine
I saw you all growing so strong and so fine.
Then finally one day I took a good look
And saw each of my flowers with their favorite book
It was obvious then that you had worked, too
Soaking up all the food that I had given to you
But although you have blossomed, you still need to grow
So I'll pass you on now to another gardener I know.
She too has a rake and hoe she can use
And plenty of food from which you can choose.
I hope you will keep your roots open wide
Take in all her food and keep it inside.
Yes, a gardener can work all night and all day
But the flower must be willing to take in each ray.
So work very hard in your garden each year
Do the best you can do and you'll have nothing to fear.
Grow strong and tall, reach up for the sun
Stay as nice as you are and have lots of fun.

    2. A Teacher's Blessing
    You're a very special person,
And I wanted you to know,
How much I enjoyed being your teacher.
How fast the year did go!
Please come back and visit me
As through the grades you go,
Try hard to learn all that you can,
There is so much to know!
The one thing I tried to teach you
To last your whole life through,
Is to know that you are SPECIAL,
There is no one else like you!

I usually like to make a card with this poem inside and attach a picture of me with the child. I make one card for each student in my class.

    Great Expectations
    It's time to say. Good-bye.
Our year has come to an end.
    We've made more cherished memories
    And many more new friends.
We've watched your children learn and grow
And change from day to day
We hope that all the things we've done
Have helped in some small way.
    So it's with happy memories
We send them out the door
    With great hope and expectations
For what next year holds in store.

    Now I know my ABCs,
    Colors, shapes, and days.
    I sang some songs,
Learned some poems, rhymes, and finger plays.
I played outside on sunny days
    And inside when it rained.
My little hands and little feet were busy every day.
    My teacher was (teacher's name).
I kept her on her toes.
She tied my shoes, combed my hair, and even wiped my nose.
But now it's time to say "Good-bye"
    To all my kindergarten friends.
    School is over, summer's here,

    Unity
    I dreamed I stood in a studio
    And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child's mind
And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher; the tools she used
    were books and music and art;
One was a parent with a guiding hand

    Songs

The Kindergarten Class (to the tune of "The Adams Family")
    Refrain: Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)
    Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)
    Da-da-da-dah
    Da-da-da-dah
    Da-da-da-dah (snap, snap)

    We learned our ABCs
    And counting one, two, threes,
And now we know all these.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS

And we learned how to share.
And we learned how to care.
Just ask us if you dare.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS
    Refrain)It seems we’ve just begun
    And now it’s almost done.
This year’s been so much fun.
    THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS

First Grade, First Grade (to the tune of "New York, New York)
    Start spreading the news.
    We’re leaving today.
We want to be a part of it,
    First grade, first grade.

    We’re ready to go.
    We’ve worked very hard.
We’re gonna be a part of it,
    First grade, first grade.

    We know our ABCs
    And our 123s so welll.
We’ve worked at sounding out words
    And stories to tell.

    Just ask us to rhyme.
    We’ll say "tens" and "pens."
We’ve learned to share and get along
    With all our friends.

So now we’ve made it there.
    We’ll make it anywhere.
    We’re on our way,
    First grade, first grade!

Sung to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
    1st grade here we come
We know we'll have lots of fun
Lots of things to make and do
    Reading Writing and Adding too
    1st grade here we come
We know we'll have lots of fun.

Happy Trails Graduation Song (To the tune of "Happy Trails to You")
    Happy Trails to you
It's the end of our school year
    Happy Trails to you
    Now Summertime is here

Next year we'll be in 1st grade
But kindergarten is where we left our heart in

    Happy Trails to you
    Time to say "So long!"

Do you remember way last fall
When I was only just this tall?
Now look at me....I'm way up here
My, I've grown a lot this year!

    I started in September
    So cute and small,
    And through the months
    I've grown up so tall.
    Look at my portraits
    And you will see,
    How much I've grown
    My pictures and ME!\

Graduation Speech For our graduation I welcome everyone for joining us then I read this simple story.

Whose Child Is This? "Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play.
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile"
Mine to keep a little while.
To bathe his/her hands and comb his/her hair,
To tell him/her what he/she is to wear,
To prepare him/her that he/she may always be good,
And each day do the things he/she should".

"Whose child is this?" I asked again,
As the door opened and someone came in.
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile.
"Mine, to keep just for a little while.
To teach him/her how to be gentle and kind,
To train and direct his/her dear little mind,
To help him/her live by every rule,
And get the best he/she can from school".

"Whose child is this?" I ask once more,
Just as the little one entered the door.

"Ours", said the parent and the teacher as they smiled.
And each took the hand of the little child.
"Ours to love and train together.
    Ours this blessed task forever."

Then I thank all the parents for all their help throughout the year because without them our jobs would be much more difficult. I wish them the best of luck with their future educational experiences.

Another cute thing we did one year was have each of the students color a sun and then they brought a family picture(s) that we taped to the sun and sang You are my sunshine dedicating to thier families. I also like the end the program with our good-bye song that we end our school day with.
