I had planned on going out to drop off resume's today but my babysitter called in sick. I don't want to take the kids so I am going to finish emailing princi"pal".

Question: I am including my resume but do I include my CL too? Should it have the principle's info on it?

I sent a resume and cover letter. My cover letter said Attn: Principal _____. Each cover letter was tailored specifically to the job. In the bodies of the email I wrote a short paragraph expressing my desire to work for their school, and then incorporating their mission statement/beliefs somehow. I have 2 interviews this week :)

    Thanks CaitM!

Did you put the full address for the school as well? Some of these schools do not have openings. So do!

I addressed the CLs to the specific Ps of each school with the full address of the school, etc.

    Good luck!

Yes, include a cover letter, business format, addressed to each principal.

Principal is spelled with "pal" at the end.

If you write anything in the body of the email, it might be a good idea to have someone review it for spelling and grammatical errors.

Oh come on, I don't think a teacher needs a short email reviewed by an outside person. I'm sure principle was a slip of her brain.. If a teacher truly doesn't know how to spell principal there is a problem. Supermiss is right though, check and double check every word before you hit send!

I don't see the harm in having someone review it.

Do you just e-mail or do you mail a packet as well? E-mail is so much more convenient. lol

Did you e-mail with the CL as the body of the e-mail with the full address and everything?

I sent a coverletter, a resume, and my references (almost like my little packet). Then in the email I sent a little introduction addressed to the principal introducing myself, my desire to teach in their school, explaining the documents attached, and then ways to contact me. I landed my job this way. Good luck!

Thanks! I am back at doing it and doing one right now.

I have done many before, but I used my CL as my body- so I am trying it this way! I will try everything! Thanks!

Yes on the CL, and good luck! Have you been sending out resumes, or are you just starting?

lol sorry that didnt make much sense!!! I have sent a packet in the mail. But I have also sent a email if they provided one since I found this the fastest most convient way to reach P's. I would have a body explaining who I am, and then attach all of my documents; cover letter, resume, and references. Good luck!
