I am not posting this to be political but thought people would want to know. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...treatment-releases-statement/?hpt=T1&iref=BN1 Very sad story but I think her message to others on Facebook was very well written
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope her children will be okay, especially given the holidays coinciding with this information. May God bless them.
Elizabeth Edwards has always been the classiest of the classy. This world is losing a wonderful person.
My husband and I were talking about her over dinner and how the last few years have been very rough for her. I am so sad to hear about this.
And her prognosis is weeks, not months. That just sucks. The same thing happened with my grandfather back in 2005.
It started as breast cancer, though I believe that now it has spread to her liver. It was big news when she continued to campaign for John Edwards after discovering the cancer.
This is what happened to my mother. It wasn't long after we found out that it had spread, and we knew the treatment wasn't going to work, so my mom decided to stop treatment as well.
This has to be tough news to hear, especially before the holidays. Prayers for all her family & that she could have one last Xmas with them!!!
I'm sure that was a hard decision to make, but I'm also sure that it came with a certain sense of relief. Both of my maternal grandparents died of the same cancer (pancreatic) a little less than a year apart. Neither took any treatments. Dad & FIL both took initial treatments, but stopped them when the cancers spread/returned. Hard decisions.
That's tragic. I expect that the family will act as decent as Elizabeth was and not give any response to those hateful people.
What is the world do these people have to do with Elizabeth Edwards? I'm ashamed to be associated in any way with these people who call themselves Christians. My religion doesn't work this way. Is this really what Jesus would do?
It is just sad... she was seemed like a great woman. What does her death have to do with any of the stuff from that article. Just sad that people have to "use" other people's hurt to get them attention.
They're not Christians. They make think they are, but they just are not. It's because of her support of homosexual groups that they are protesting. I despise this group more than words can say.
I wonder how many people it would take to get there to "picket" THEM first to keep them far enough away from the family. It would be cool to see large groups of people almost creating a human barrier to keep them away. If they can protest, other people can too. Just get the other people there first.
But then they get what they want which is a reaction. I say we just ignore these loonies. As we say at my school, we will refuse to be baited.
Correct. All of the members of the church are family members of Phelps, either by blood or marriage. And the majority of them are lawyers. Hopefully the Freedom Riders will help
I would love to cover myself with slime (whatever I could stand to have on me) and hug everyone of the Westboro Baptist Church picketers If I could I'd be right there standing in their way. Maybe find some people with colds and have them sneeze on them I know Dr Laura Called them out on it on her blog: She calls them ....vile, blasphemous, ferociously mean, insensitive, disgusting and downright evil....... http://www.drlaurablog.com/2010/12/09/baptists-need-to-do-something-about-the-phelps-family/ My mom and grandma were Baptist so I am not anti-Baptist I do think other Baptists need to try to support the families of our fallen at these funerals.
As if her family hasn't gone through enough sorrow, now they have to deal with this on the day they are laying her to rest. What a horrible group.
I heard that a grassroots plan is spreading for loads of people to picket the protesters and stand in front of them to block them from the Edwards family. The plan is to completely prevent them from spreading their filth anywhere near the services. If I lived in that area, I would love to be part of it.
I heard that also Swan on Anderson Cooper last night. They plan on singing hymns and Christmas songs.
