Hey everyone! I am in search of some GOOD educational BUT FUN websites for my 6th graders to use at school in the classroom. MANY of my students DO NOT have computers and they are dying to go on the internet and "play." I would like to put a list on the board of acceptable web sites or maybe do a website of the week so they can gain some experience on the web for those early finishers. Each child has their own log in and password and our district just about blocks everything you could ever think of!!! LOL! So I'm not too worried about them wondering into somewhere they aren't supposed to be. I am planning on doing some searching of my own this weekend but if anyone knows a GOOD one that I should check out I would appreciate the guidance! THANKS!!
My students like: www.mathisfun.com www.funbrain.com http://cemc.uwaterloo.ca/mathfrog/index.shtml http://home.freeuk.net/elloughton13/scramble2.htm (magnetic poetry)
Here are some links to games I have compiled. (I don't teach math or science) They aren't ALL games - some are wequests we have done. I try not to let my kids wander the net, so when we need specific sites, I put them on portaportal. http://guest.portaportal.com/langarts http://guest.portaportal.com/socstudies
