    There are so many acronyms that we throw around. I know that some of them are specific to geographical regions, but I thought it might be cool to have a list. I'll start it:
    LD- Learning Disability
    TAT- Teacher Assistance Team
    NCLB- No Child Left Behind
    ADD- Attention-Deficit Disorder
    ADHD- Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder

    Wow I've never even heard a lot of these! Keep them coming I think it's very interesting. Plus, I never knew what DIBELS stood for, it's just one that I say a lot.

    DD - Developmentally Delayed (though some I've seen are just DD... Discipline Delayed!)

    Seriously, the ESL, ELL, LEP . . . what is that all about? Can't we pick one acronym and stick to it? Not to mention TESOL and ENL.

    What about:
    NEA- National Educator's Association
    TAT- Teacher Assistance Team
    CT- Cooperating Teacher
    ST- Student Teacher
    PTA- Parent Teacher Association
    PTO- Parent Teacher Organization

    CSE - Committee for Special Education
    CPSE - Committee for Preschool Special Education
    OT - Occupational Therapy/Therapists
    PT - Physical Therapy/Therapist
    SEIT - Special Ed Itinerant Teacher
    AIS - Academic Intervention Services
    DAP - Developmentally Appropriate Practice
    FAPE - Free and Appropriate Public Education
    LRE - Least Restrictive Environment (which isn't always an inclusive classroom!)

    Let's... a few real ones...
    AAA - Alabama Alternate Assessment
    DAYC - Developmental Assessment of Young Children
    (I could go on with more test acronyms... there are TONS)

    L.D. - learning disabled
    B.D. - behavior disabled
    MID- Mildly intellecually disabled
    BAD - just plain bad
