I recently took the ec-4 exam and failed it for the second time. I used the Janice Nath book, which i thought was helpful. Does anyone know a great program that i can buy to help me better study for this exam?

I don't know of any good one. (Sorry) Did you take the computer one? If not, try it next time. Memorize the competencies, and really understand what they mean. When you answer the questions, remember to pick the best one that can benefit the child!
Hang in there and try and get someone to study with.
You can do it. Third time's a charm.
    Good luck,

Yes, i took the computer exam. That is very helpful information. What study book did you use to study for your PPR and Content exam?
If you do not pass this exam, will i have to retake my certification course again?

I never quite remember what TExES gives by way of feedback... but is there anything to indicate which competencies, or at least which domains, are giving you grief?

Yes, the TeXes results show you how many you passed and how many you missed in each domain AND in each competency within the domains. It is a great self-assessment tool, because you can see exactly where you need to focus on improvement.

Thanks, Missy99. It's hard to keep all these tests straight!

So, hallie: what information can you glean from your score report about the competencies on which you need to work?

This is good practice for when you are a teacher -- learning how to use assessments as a teaching (and reteaching) tool :)
