We just made the prettiest flowers for mother's day -

2 or 3 coffee filters per flower - I have used the cone-shaped ones as well as the bowl-shaped ones

If using cone-shaped ones, cut off two sides leaving only bottom part attached

Color in random patterns with markers

Dip a tissue in water and dab all over the marker until it spreads

    Scrunch up bottom

Gently shape petals however you like

    Attach a pipe-cleaner stem

    Let dry to stiffen petals

That's it - the colors come out beautiful

Oh thank you! The cones make great butterflies, hair bows, angels (one cone - one scrunched) too! That's just off the top of my head. We are going to have fun with this! (I use regular filters all the time and missed the cones.)

We made really easy bracelets for our moms. Thread colorful beads on a pipe cleaner, then bend to fit. Very easy, the kids love them.

We decorated pillow cases. Each child actually made 2, 1 for mom and 1 for dad. Dad's we'll save until June and send it home closer to Father's Day. It was eas and fun!
