Ack-- next week is Palm Sunday... how did THAT happen?

We'll be away the 4 days immediately preceeding Easter, so I've got to get stuff done!

I just went to www.mousepinsonline.com and ordered a grab-bag of 25 pins for trading; I'll order once or twice more in the next year and a half. And I'll get everyone a Disney gift card to get our collection going.

I'll get everyone sunglasses; that's an Easter basket tradition in our house. And of course, there's candy.

What else for 8 and 11 year old girls, and a 12 year old boy?

I didn't think about sunglasses. I'm thinking about a small kite and a small MP3 player (my son's broke).

I know I always liked getting Lip Smackers in my Easter basket. They made me feel like a big kid, but in a very innocent way. I usually would also get fruit in mine.

Does your son play any sports? You could tuck in a new batting glove, or wristbands. For the girls, I just found the cutest ponytail holder 'lollipops' at my dollar store...the bands are wound around a circular disk with a lollipop stick...cute. Any hair accessories, lip balm, fun socks...

I bought my girls some books on drawing. We alway dye real eggs so on Easter Sunday they hunt real eggs, but I also get the plastic eggs and fill them with puzzle pieces instead of candy. Each girl gets their own puzzle and not only have to find eggs, but the eggs that go with their puzzle...they love it.

Socks, esp easter socks for the girls. Hair stuff, earrings. Chapstick, like Lip Smackers. Little NERF shooters of some kind. Stickers, anything crafty they might like? Target usually has little pots with seeds in their dollar section. Mini Love's Baby Soft for the girls.

Just opened an AC Moore ad in my email and it made me think of mini velvet color posters, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk.

When I was a kid it was fun to get those little travel size toiletries to in my easter basket (shampoo, etc.) and you could also use them on your trip.

Oooh, kites! We always got a new kite for Easter :) Lipgloss is always fun for girls... and maybe a gift card for Brian to that game store he likes?

Or maybe a small Disney plush toy for the girls? Or, to go with the sunglasses, the sandals/flipflops that your family likes?

In the past, I've used Easter baskets as an excuse to buy the movies the kids have wanted but I hadn't purchased yet. I also like to replace their broken and worn out summer toys. Also, since my kids are big readers, there's always a couple of books in there.

At that age and later I always bought the kids new swimsuits and sandals. Kind of a start of summer theme.

Interesting ideas! I have a 15 year old son though that I'm struggling to think what to put in his.
