Can anyone recommend a super simple way to share classwork and notes daily? I'd like to be able to snap a picture of notes we took in class and upload it somewhere easy to see. Ideally I'd also want to attach PDF files of worksheets. I have a website currently but it takes too many steps to easily use multiple times a day. If a student is missing something or was absent, I'd like there to be a simple way for them to go back to see what they've missed (instead of me trying to dig up the old assignment 3 weeks later when they finally ask about it). Thank you!
Yes. Google is amazing in general -- my team this year is doing all our planning in one spreadsheet on google drive, which I am SUPER EXCITED ABOUT (also I set it up, so ya know. They were just happy to have an organized method that we don't all have to submit our own plans!). Google Drive is the best. But Classroom is definitely perfect for sharing work with students!
Thanks all... A few questions: Is it free? Does my school need to be signed up or can I create an account on my own? Do parents or students need their own account to see what I'm uploading?
Google classroom is great. Edmodo can perform a similar function too. I place all worksheets, resources, PowerPoints, etc in a library, and give students access to the library. It then becomes their responsibility to go to Edmodo to catch up on what they have missed.
The free Adobe Scan phone app is great for this function. It integrates just fine for uploading to Classroom/Drive.
Your school does need to be signed up for you to use Classroom. However, you can make a free Google Site, which is what I used. There’s also Sophia.org, which I used to store entire units in one place.
Does your school have Moodle? Although I much prefer Google, many schools have Moodle, and you can do the same things with it - just not quite as user friendly IMHO. Does Class Dojo do this kind of thing? It seems to be geared to disseminate class info.
ClassDojo can do this, but I think it's more meant to showcase an occasional picture or announcement rather than multiple posts each day. But if anyone uses it for the latter, please share!
Google Classroom is great and so is Microsoft OneNote. You can set OneNote to where anyone can view with the link. I use these two tools together in my classroom, and it has worked pretty well.
