    Ok, I know we have a zillion crockpot recipe threads. But I was wondering what ideas people have for really super simple crock pot meals. I am talking like throwing 2-3 things in with little to no prep.

    Tonight we are having pork and sauerkraut. Pork roast or boneless ribs, dump sauerkraut on top. Done.

    Any other really simple ideas for the crockpot?

    I am always afraid to leave the crock pot on from 6:30AM to 4:00PM even on low.

    If you are concerned about leaving the house with the crock pot on, cook it overnight.

    One of my most favorites crock-pot recipes is "Cheesy Bacon Chicken". It is so easy and absolutely delicious!

    -Boneless Chicken of you choice (I usually use Breast or Tenders)
    -1/2 cup Ranch sauce
    -1/4 cup Buffalo Wing sauce (Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce is the best, IMO)
    -Shredded Cheese
    -Bacon Bits

    ~~~~~~~~~
    Add chicken to crock-pot. In bowl mix ranch and buffalo wing sauce, pour over chicken top with cheese and bacon.
    Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.. the actual time depends not only on how your crock-pot cooks (ours cooks really fast), but also on what type of chicken you use.
    I know someone on here has posted about chicken breast, taco seasoning and salsa before, then you can use it for tacos, salads, enchiladas, etc.
    frozen meatballs and sauce.
    Mine goes to warm when it is done so I don't worry about it too much.
    I do pinto beans, black eyed peas, and chili regularly. I also do lots of roasts. I have done lasagna. I also do a Mexican casserole. Mix one can of cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, one carton of sour cream. The mix in one pound of cooked ground beef into mixture. Layer tortillas and meat mixture with grated cheese...ending with mixture. Since the meat is cooked, you can put in crockpot and put in icebox until you get in from school. This is also a good recipe to make and freeze for a fast meal.
    Haha my dog sits on the floor by the counter staring at the crockpot for hours. One day i know he is going to figure out how to get up there and stick his little face in the pot!
    I have made only basic things like pot roast and chili. I would love to try pulled pork and salsa chicken.
    One of our favorites is a whole turkey breast and sweet potatoes in the crock pot. I even throw it in frozen and it cooks completely by the time we get home in the evening.
    If you do a breast or a whole chicken, you can put aluminum foil "balls" in the bottom of the crock pot so the meat doesn't sit in the juices all day long.
    You should check out the Crock Pot Girls website. I found this group on fb and have just started using my crockpot. I am looking forward to trying some of these recipes, too!
    Pork tenderloin and chicken stock makes a tasty and tender pork tenderloin. I sometimes add carrots and potatoes.
    Potatoes, chicken breasts (or any other chicken part), and a can of green enchilada sauce. Shred the chicken before serving. YUM. This is one of my go-tos.
    Frozen meatballs and a bottle of barbeque sauce. I'm partial to Sweet Baby Ray's. You can also add a small jar of grape jelly if you're feeling adventuresome.
    Velveeta and a jar of salsa. You can add a can of black beans, some cooked ground beef/turkey, and/or some frozen corn to spruce it up if you want. Serve with tortilla chips.
    I had to replace my crockpot and purchased a programmable one. I love it! I can set it to wait to start, when to change temps, etc. My favorite crock-pot dish is pulled pork. It doesn't get much simpler. I put in a pork shoulder with a little bit of chicken broth (just to cover the bottom to stop scorching). I pour on the seasoning and then let it cook all day. I come in and shred it (it usually comes apart in the crockpot.) Then I put it back in with bbq sauce and let it cook for about 30 minutes. Yummmmy
    Mine is a rival, but I think most new slow cookers are now coming with more programmable features, like the warm setting.
    Are there other ingredients for the sweet potato and Turkey breast dish? Sounds great!
    Have you seen the new pre packed spices? They are sorta in blister packs? We have tossed a few of those into the crock for meals lately. This year between my school and those of my children I have 5 classrooms to help with! That doesn't even include Church or sports! I am swamped!
    Cook on high 4 hours or low 6 hours with non-frozen chicken. Serve with shredded mexican cheese and sour cream. MmmmMmmm
