My daughter has a passion, as I do, for the space program and astronomy. People that know her say her passion for the subject is contagious.

So now she is considering changing her major to teaching. She wants to share her enthusiasm for the subject with others and she wants to inspire.

Is there a teaching degree in this area? Would she have to get a degree in secondary education? What are the prospects for the future?

Since I share with her so much of what I do and encounter while teaching, this may have had an effect on her thinking. I am happy she is considering this option.

Yes, there are degrees or at least emphasis in space science. I know of some teachers who have this, most teach at science magnet schools. I don't have much more information than that!

    Good for your daughter!
