I will be going back to teaching after a 26 year hiatus. I'm very nervous about having to get an Early Childhood endorsement. I live in Arizona and it is required to teach K-3 in public schools. Has anyone taken the test lately. I have asked other educators and I can only find other Teachers who have taken it about 6 years ago. I need to find the best study material. Please help!!!

If my link works, this is the official study guide for the EC test. I have found that the AEPA study guides are more confusing than the test. I haven't taken the EC test, but I've taken other ones. The last test I took didn't report scores until after a month, so sign up and take it as soon as possible before this next hiring season.

If Kat53's link doesn't work, go to http://www.aepa.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/AZ036_PrepMaterials.html. From the looks of the Test Specifications doc, http://www.aepa.nesinc.com/Content/Docs/AZ_fld36_framework.pdf, though, I think this test will tend to play to your strengths, Jacque. Use the framework as a springboard from which to launch questions on the Internet about any technical terms you don't know; you can also consult the Arizona state content standards - typically, K-3 material is covered in each relevant subject area, and tests that aren't labeled NES should be aligned to them. Content standards should be on the state board of education Web site.

Score report dates, and the test dates that each score report date covers, are available at http://www.aepa.nesinc.com/PageView.aspx?f=GEN_GetResults.html.

I would double check that. I teach grade 3 in AZ and it was not a requirement to get my ECE. It was my understanding that you must get your ECE if you want to teach Birth-Kinder, not Birth-3rd.
