Where can I find dry erase markers such as white for this purpose. Target has glow/bright ones but they want $7.99 for 3 plus a board. I don't need the board & don't want to spend that much when I only need one, plus don't know how it really would look. Any ideas?

I found a set of 5? at Office Depot about 5 years ago. They are drying out - was going to check staples in the teacher section this year - Office Depot went out of business near me. You may be able to order them online too. I don't remember the brand name I got. They had a black barrel to differentiate them from "normal" dry erase markers.

Office Max has them--but I think they were pricey.

Office Max has new neon ones. They cost a lot, but I plan to try them this year.

I may have to do this if I don't find the white ones. I just can't believe that they are so hard to find! :(

If anyone finds any, please let me know.

They have them at AC Moore by me. Pack of 4 for 6.49 I think, may be 7.49. If they carry them then maybe Michaels does too. :)

Haven't been to Michael's. That's a great idea! Will let you know if I get lucky.

I just tried it & it did not work. I may just settle for the bright/neon markers

Walgreens has some neon ones they say are for black dry erase boards. I think there were 5 in the pack for... $6? They were on sale, I remember that much. Check your local ad.

I just bought a set at Michaels on Friday. Michaels is having 10% off for teachers for the next couple of weeks and it includes sale items.

Office Depot has a 5-pack of Expo neon dry-erase markers for $7.49.
They are the "fat" markers, and the colors are yellow, green, pink, orange, and blue. Amazon wants $12 for the same thing! Hobby Lobby has a 3-pack (yellow, orange, pink) for $5.99. Office Max and Michael's don't show any neon markers at all, and I haven't been able to find white dry-erase markers at all. I, too, have a new gray board, so I'm looking! All of my searching thus far has been via the web (conserving gasoline). I'm gonna start looking in the stores next week!

I have the Neon expo markers from Office Depot. They work well on the black dry erase board that I have. They don't come with a white marker, however, I did find a package of neon dry erase markers that include a white one:

They are $8.32 for a pack of 6.

Not to get off topic, but I have never heard of a black dry erase board. Is this like a big black dry erase board for the whole class? Why didn't the school just get the regular white dry erase board?

I did some research and the best price I found was at Office Depot. If you scroll down you can find a five pack in the "customers that viewed this item also viewed" section. If you don't want to order from online and have an Office Depot near you, you can probably have them order them if they don't have some in stock.

Thank you all for the info. I may order the ones online but I did see that Walgreen has the neon markers on sale for $6.99 for this week.

I'm sorry...I started setting up my room today and realized my board isn't as dark as I remembered it. I hate that you have to spend so much for the markers.

I just thought of something last year when I started I kept buying my own markers and then found out the school will supply them, I just had to ask. I would be surprised if all the teachers were buying their own...it may be worth asking if you haven't. Good luck.
