Take a deep breath. While you wait for them to call you, make sure your interview outfit is spotless. Shoes, purse, clean, neat, professional looking.

    Good luck!!

This may be why you're available to teach at the moment. You had to wait for perfection. This sounds SO up your alley.

Thanks everyone!!! No, I won't try to deliver my resume in person....but I did send via fax and snail mail.

I think this position is great because it offers me the chance to become a mentor teacher! I did a report on this program in my grad class! AUSL offers alternative certification for people who want to become teachers.

Instead of rushing out the building at 3:15 p.m., I would probably be responsible for helping new teachers or maybe work with student teachers!!

I would be able to teach my favorite grade, pre-k, while providing training, support and assistance to others. I'd LOVE doing that!!! :woot: Remember when I said after finishing my Masters, I may consider teaching college?!

Looking for purses to match my shoes!!! And putting more certificates and membership info in my portfolio!!! Just looking at the job description makes me excited!!! I want to have the perfect answer for each question!!! And a story to tell as well!

You guys know how I love to talk... :D

Especially about things I really, really like!!!

    Sounds great!

Do you have a fabulous cover letter?
Portfolio? (Make one while you're waiting for the interview!)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Mine actually would need to be updated if I was job-hunting.

A friend of mine did an "ABC's of Ms. HerName"
On the A page she has : Academics with her educational background
    B- could be behavior managment
    C-Classroom pictures,

    Etc, you get the idea.
    Extremely adorable.

MPK- I am so glad that that you've found this job posting. You definitely deserve the job! They should call you any minute! =) Do you have a portfolio? I brought one to almost all of my interviews, and everyone really liked looking at it. I had my philosophy, resume, transcript, classroom management plan, rec letters, teaching certificate, and pictures of things that I have made in the classroom and of me when I was with kids.

It seems like the principals really like to have something to look at. Actually sometimes it makes it harder, because they will be looking at my portfolio and asking questions. So they have to multi-task. But I think it shows a lot about you, and you have a lot of strengths and experience to emphasize!

That is great! I would call to follow up and make sure your resume was received and at the same time you could show how enthusiastic you are about the job! Ask when they're scheduling interviews! Good luck!

    Thanks MissE and superteach...

I guess in the past, I have been gun shy about my portfolio, because other Head Start directors have copied the entire thing, and never hired me! I don't like carrying all that around. A director just told me a month ago she wouldn't ask for my transcripts unless she would hire me. After that interview, she asked me to send them to her. So I faxed them.

And that was over a month ago. :(

I wouldn't hand it over to be copied- they could take the license out and copy that but not the whole portfolio!!
