I am planning a Sweet 16 party next week. I need to make a cake out of Krispy Kreme donuts. This will be a first for me. Got any ideas?

Oh, I saw a picture on a show this last week....I am so sorry I can not remember which show, on food tv or something.
Anyway it had the donuts placed on top of each other...I am also thinking they-Krispy Kreme made the cake.
I do remember that the show was about the history and comparison of donuts, if that helps. ok, I found this....http://www.weddingsatwork.com/prep_talk050903.shtml hope it helps.

Thanks! I had not seen some of the pictures you found. I am going to stop by Krispy Kreme and see if they have any ideas too. I will try to post a picture of it.

They are going strong here. We have 3 stores in town and every gas station and grocery store sells them too. They are not as good unless they are warm so we go right to the store. I did learn that we have to make the cake out of cooled donuts or they slide apart.

They are here, too. Personally, I prefer Southern Maid donuts -- they are yeast donuts, not the cake ones, and when they are still warm, they literally melt in your mouth! In our family, it is "against the law" to make it home without having eaten at least one!

Ooooo - Southern Maid donuts. Kept me going through all four years of college! Yum!!!!!!

(But Krispy Kremes are going srong here, too. I think they just expanded too fast.)

And thinking about the sliding cake is pretty funny. Sounds like something I would do!

    :)
