Wow! My dd and I just finished watching an episode of "how clean is your house"--I was really thinking they just took a dump truck of trash b/f filming for effect but maybe not. I can't believe anyone can live this way. yuck!!!

    O. My.

TB, I have watched that show too. It is remarkable that anyone would go on reality tv, but with a house like that? I'd rather not, thank you... although... they get clean, tidy homes at the end of the show. No.

That apt. from the link is the result of some mental illness, I think. Sad, sad, sad.

Maybe I'll take piccies of my place as I work it over the rest of the summer. A little, "What I did over the summer" photo essay. :)

You know, I had an olfactory memory when I looked at the first picture. The ashtray! Ewww, ugh, ugh, gross.

It cracks me up that she had an iron-- as though she cared how about appearances!

Messy is one thing--- this is mental illness.

It makes me kind of sad that she didn't have anyone to help her. The smoking, while gross, is a form of self medicating. There have been a couple studies that have shown that smoking reduces hallucinations for schizophrenics.

That's what I noticed too. My house doesn't look anywhere close to that, but I pretty much never iron. lol

    Oh, ack. Ick. Yuck.

My pile of non-self-folding laundry and cat-who-shreds-any-paper-she-can-get-her-paws-on are totally, eternally forgiven.

Those pictures should have a warning. They made me gag. How did the neighbors keep from smelling the rotting food? Bet she doesn't get her deposit back.

My question is... where does she sleep? The bedroom was covered in boxes.

That's hilarious! I had friends who's apartment was almost as bad. We'd go over and it would be a pigsty! They had the nerve to say, "Oh, you wouldn't believe we just cleaned last night"!!

My friends' bedroom was so bad they coudln't sleep in it. Sometimes they slept on the livingroom couch. They had to throw the dirty clothes on the floor that were piled ontop of the couch LOL

When my kids were little (3 and 4) I had a girlfriend whose house was like this. When we went over there I made the kids stay outside with me. My daughter asked me one day "Maymay why does Miss *** like to live in a garbage dump?"

WOW! Definitely mental illness. She/he should have been under someone's care.

Anyone who lives like this has got to be suffering from mental illness. There is no other reason.
