nothing worse than playing dress up in the bathroom just before the interview, and finding out that lady who was in there is the recruiter! that happened to me and my DD! glad it is finally spring...no more heavy coats, hats, and coming in looking crazy..rushing to ladies room, to get the brush and make up and fix yourself up!!!

Those are great. I can't believe how some people act even when they know they should be "on their best behavior."

Congrats, MPK! I gave her my cell phone number as the best number to reach me at so I'm carrying it around everywhere with me. No news yet! Thinking Wed or Thurs.

    thanks for the support!!

keep your earpiece, or blue tooth...or at least have it on vibrate...

remember when we had to sit at home all day, watching the phone... without caller ID!!!

kinda like waiting for a date?! :(

I cannot tell a lie...I use dress shields...

    I sweat like a pig! :(

It makes me cringe when people raise their hands, and they aren't Sure, don't have a Secret, and have no left guard or Right Guard either!

and that big wet stain is not sexy on guys or pretty on girls...

a interview coach told me...on those hot muggy days, drive to the appointment in one outfit..and change once you get there!

I thought about that when I was going to interviews in the summer and my car's AC was kaput. BUT, won't it look kinda weird to get into the D.O. and change in the bathroom? I just drove in my suit, but with the jacket off. Then put the jacket on when I got there. I was still pretty miserable in the cenral valley heat.... bleh!

Those really seem like common sense--- I guess alot of Americans are lacking it on job interviews though :(

yeah, let's car pool to save gas while we are looking for work!!!They say, don't show up with other people for an interview...what if you all are out of work, and that is your ride?!

peachy, now they say to roll down windows to save gas and not use AC!

I would drive in my tank top, and then put on blouse and blazer in parking lot, before entering building.

The friendly unemployment office will make you attend job search classes, and send you to interviews and give you a post card to give to employer.

so, you have the interview, and you gotta hand this card to this person and say, "Can you please mail back this card and let the Unemployment Office know I came here today?"

I felt like a big LOSER, with a capital "L"! One place did not mail the card back, and held up my checks for 2 weeks! UI office claimed I didn't go on interview!

This and your possible clothing change are infinitely more sensible approaches than the last-second sniff test. Bravo to you for coming up with alternatives!
