This is a really random question I just thought of. But I want to get some carpet squares (and turn them into carpet dots--circles) Do you think a rug place would donate? Or does anyone have any idea of where I could get carpet for really cheap?

To be quite honest, I am not the most "forward" person, and would feel a little uncomfortable calling and asking for free things... but I suppose I could take one for the class. =)

    Any ideas?

I have gotten mine from two sources - a carpet store that gave me the squares they used for samples and the carpet was discontinued. They are nice because they are fininished on the edges. I also had a dad in my class (but you could also ask a store for a remanant) cut it up into squares for me. They aren't as nice because they aren't fnished but they don't ravel too badly.

Many years ago I found some at WalMart that were in 2 packs for $1. You can check there. I'm not big into calling and asking for things either.

    Try donorschoose.org
they may have squares or something similar in their catalog, then you can write a request. I have had many projects funded through donorschoose. It is a great site.
