No...and I've had a lot of them!
I'll come be your admin! I've taught kindergarten for 7 years AND I have my admin license!
Our building admin, yes. The district, no.
Yes this one does but my first one didn't. In fact she didn't even understand elementary classes. She was a high school math teacher. She was a witch, and I thank god everyday she got rid of me. Have Tons of respect for my last two principals.

We have the best principal in the world. He "gets it"! I think our admin tends to appreciate the grade levels they don't understand as much even more!
I am thankful for my school, which is PK-2nd (the others are at another campus) and a principal who used to teach kinder! But, I've been there, although it was first grade and my first year teaching.
All i can say is when i saw Kinder in the subject i thought Tinder for kids and i died inside.
R.I.P. my insides

Hi All, this is my first time posting... i'm hoping someone can enlighten me. My admin decided to implement a new curriculum called Reading Street starting with my kindergarten class. I do not like it AT ALL. I can go on and on about why I do not like it... but I'll spare the details. What can i do about it? I've spoken to admin but they want us to try it for the year but i just feel like my reputation is on the line.... it's making the class boring and i don't feel like students are learning. what to do?!
Can you use parts of it supplement with real literature, etc. That's what I did when we used that program. I used the digital resources and the leveled readers-but everything else I pulled from other sources. I found their activities to be very low level and just don't believe everyone reading out of a basal reader is effective when you have such a spectrum of abilities.
