I interviewed for a position last week. Didn't get it but was told by the P that he and the rest of the interview team really liked me and that there may be another opening he thought I'd be a good fit for. On Friday, he called me and wanted to know my thoughts on 1st or 4th grade. I told him I love 1st grade and would love to teach it. He said that he's trying to work things out and will be calling me Monday. He calls me yesterday and said he'd like to offer me the 1st grade position and that he is calling my references then will be turning everything in and call me back. Does it sound like I definitely have the job? I guess I'm just worried that he will call back and tell me it didn't work out! I know he called my references because one of them told me he called. Has anything similar happened to anyone else?
in my experience - calling references means a job offer is coming your way 99.9% of the time. congrats
Congrats! Sounds almost like a sure thing. If you have strong references, sounds like you are in! What luck to be able to choose your grade level. That is awsome. Best wishes! Make sure you let us know for sure so we can do a little celebration dance with you!
It sounds pretty darned sure! I'd say something extraordinary would have to come up to dash your hopes. I think we'll be congratulating you very soon!
It sounds like something major would have to suddenly happen for you not to get it. But if I were you, I'd celebrate when I'm officially signing the contract. CONGRATS!
I would say you more than likely got the job. I hope he calls you back soon to finalize the offer! Best wishes
Teachyouteachme - That sounds very promising. My advice, though, is to still keep hunting for jobs. I had a similar situation and it looked VERY promising (my boyfriend even wanted to take me out to dinner that night), but I call back after my trip and all of a sudden I hear that another person got hired. I'd definitely celebrate if you get the job but keep applying!!!!! But good job on the interview. Calling refs seems like a good direction
