"same as cash" is? I saw this posted on my credit card account and I am unfamiliar with what that is...it was like for 333 dollars and i did not ask for that. could someone have hacked my account?
I've heard of the term, but not in relation to my credit card. Did you visit a pawn shop? I'm just half-serious only because it sounds like something a pawn shop or one of those check cashing/borrowing places would be called. It could be legit as it is a financial term, but it is strange too because I've never heard of it on a credit card bill.
i know! i am really freaking out because what i have read on the net it is like an advance of some sort...but i did NOT authorize this. also, it put my balance over my limit. i am so outdone with this place. first i pay a bill online only for it not to have gone through and my payment made late(initially with charges but were removed) then i paid again online and had a returned check fee..which i HAD money in my account. so when i got this letter in the mail about my not paying my bill(which i did) the account balance was way over my limit. i go online to check and see the returned check fee alongside with this "same as cash" mess. unfortunately i have to wait until tomorrow. ugghhh..i paying this crap off and leaving it alone
If it was 300 I could see it as a cash advance but 333 could be from a check cashing place but definately not from an ATM! If this is a visa or mastercard you can get their number from the internet, according to my hubby.
From what I understand, "same as cash" means that the purchase will be treated as if you paid with cash - that is, no interest charges. But usually that's something you do when you finance something through a store's line of credit, like when you buy furniture and finance it through the store. If it's something that's showing up on your credit card, definitely call and see what's going on!
yeah...it was what Erin Elizabeth said. If I looked closer and thought about what i just bought it would have made sense! I am just glad that it wasn't hacked into or something like that. however, i am so outdone with this store so I am going to pay it off as soon as i can and be done with it. one thing that i do wonder is this...i have heard that if you cancel a credit card instead of just cutting it up it affects your credit. when i do pay it off I would like to just go ahead and cancel it so the tempation is no longer there to buy something and pay back later...but i don't want it to affect my already poor credit rating. has anyone every heard of that?
I live in Oz so I dont know how that would affect your credit, but I have heard of a great way to stop you using your credit card....... You freeze it ....... put it in a cup of water in your freezer and leave it there . If you are tempted to use it, you have to thaw it first..... hopefully this gives you time to come to your senses to stop those "impulse buys".
