I have used this site for a couple of years, but I have never been able to save the puzzles to my Custom Classroom. I have to create and print in one setting and if I lose it, I have to redo the whole thing. Does anyone else have problems with it? Or know of another free puzzle making site?
I haven't tried it but A to Z has word maker under Tools if you are trying to do this type of puzzle.
I was looking to make crossword puzzles, but I also need to make word searches so thanks for the info!
Jenny, I have had the same problem. What I discovered is that you can copy and paste your puzzle from Puzzlemaker into a Word document and save it. I like this because now I can choose a cuter font and add clipart. Give it a try!
On my way to try that! I hate the generic font for the clues and would usually type up my own, but it will be so nice to have the grid saved as well. Thanks!
i use puzzle maker all the time for crosswords and love it. I highlight it all by pressing ctrl a and then copy by pressing ctrl c and then paste into a word document with ctrl p. the diagram of boxes will be too big. But it shows as a picture so if you click on it you will get the box outline and you can resize it. I save all of mine in word.
Click here to find the puzzle makers here at A to Z: http://tools.atozteacherstuff.com On the word search maker, I have a tip listed so you don't have to re-enter all your words: Before you create your puzzle, you might also want to highlight your word list and press Ctrl+C to keep a copy of it on your computer's clipboard. That way, if you need to come back and change settings, you can paste the words into the blank by pressing Ctrl+V. Otherwise you'll have to re-type them. (These shortcut commands work on Windows systems.)
