Does anyone have experience establishing a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Club at their school?

Or any LGBT related club especially a middle school. I am a little scared at how other teachers and staff will react to it since I am new to this school site and the school therapist said she has struggled to start one. Does anyone have any tips?

ours fizzled out after a bit but when it first started we had a student who brought stuff from a previous school's club. So maybe other schools in your district have resources? Also there was an organization that shared resources as well...https://gsanetwork.org/resources/
(I hope it is ok to put links.)
edit - I just saw that you are middle school - I'm hs.

I have worked in a middle school that really needed this kind of club or activity. I have helped with a HS version, but more and more of MS students are coming out at a younger age, often because they are being outed by their peers. They need the support and GSAs are a valuable asset for kids who are often confused about what they are feeling, wondering where they fit into the world. Let me wish you the best of luck in this endeavor.
