I'm thinking of getting one, mostly for the pressure cooking feature.

What do you use it for? Are you happy with it?

I have one but really don't use it much. I like the idea of cooking meals quickly but it does take some time to build up pressure so not as quick as commercials make it seem.

I have several relatives that use them and love them. As LouiseB says, it takes time to build up pressure so the "cooking" time is misleading. However, they said it is great because you put everything in, press some buttons and that is about it. That allows time to do other things instead of cooking and to have meals that you don't have to attend to or have crockpot meals which usually need less time than the amount of time you are away from the home.

    LOVE MINE!!!
I use it weekly if not more.

Yeah the build up time can be a let down. Takes longer if the meats are frozen. Still 2 hours total for a butt is still quicker than 6 in a crockpot (especially if you forget to start up the crockpot before leaving school.)

I'm thinking about getting one. I used to use my crockpot a lot on school days, but now that we have a dog in the house, that option is off the table unless I want to come home to a mess (and no dinner!) :toofunny:

    Hahaha. Those smart dogs!!
I used my crockpot to make Mediterranean Chicken today. It took four hours after browning the chicken. It was sooooo good - garbanzo beans, cherry tomatoes, lemon, garlic. I added the drippings from browning. I went a little too crazy with the lemon, though ......

I've been meaning to invest in one of these. When you come home, the meatloaf will be ready.

We love it but don't use it that much!
I love that you can stick frozen meats / chicken in there without thawing.
    And it cooks so fast

Yeah, it's the pressure cooker part that I'm interested in. I want the tenderness in meats without having to pot them like in a crockpot.

I have one, but I don't use it as much as I could. Mostly I use it to quickly cook chicken breasts for recipes and make hard boiled eggs. I thought it would make weeknight dinners a snap, but like a PP said it takes time fore pressure to build, and some recipes take a couple hours or more. I don't have that kind of time between getting home and getting kids to CCD, football practice, and/or scouts. I will say the IP did make the BEST pot roast I have ever tasted.

My sister said she tried hers once and hated it so she gave it to her cleaning lady. I still haven't bought one and probably won't.
