I think it depends on what the harassment and slander is. Slander has a very high threshold to prove. Depending on the harassment, whether it is in or out of school, different things can be done (if the administration chooses). If admin won't step in, I don't think you have much recourse.

    I hope it gets better.

I second Czacza, but recommend blind carbon copy, and make sure that you try to keep the communications linked. I also keep them in a file folder on my desktop so that I can quickly find them should the need arise, as opposed to searching through my inbox.

Watch how you respond too. Less is always better than more. What I mean is for example, parent asks will you provide extra worksheets for my child? If you don't have to then respond per school policy I am not required to provide those. End of communication.

I haven't checked the old thread, but I thought the parent wasn't allowed contact anymore.

Have you talked to your association?

Teachers generally have no greater legal protections than ordinary citizens against harassment/slander, and may have less in some instances (it's state law, so it varies).

Are you in a union or professional organization? I'd ask them if you are.

My P is meeting with a parent about her behavior and how she's treating the teachers. She asked that we send her any emails/messages/phone call summaries.

One teacher sent in a 13 page long document.
Another sent in a 11 page document.
I sent in about a 2 page document. (I've had this parent before- so I know what she expects and how to calm her down by now.)

My P said she's going to read through everything before she meets with the parent. I was hoping she (P) would meet with us to discuss first, but I think because of how the parent is treating one teacher in particular, the P rushed this meeting. It's bad enough that I feel the need to give the teacher a hug and let them know it will be okay :(

11? 13? I have over 900 pages of emails that have gone back and forth. Besides accusing me of cheating (to my principal), she is also "poisoning the well" with other parents.

Good point! I do use Google Drive, so I have a thing about multiple copies of everything, available from anywhere. What's the old saying? Just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean that there's not someone out to get you!

I heard of a school where some emails went poof....it would have not looked good for the school if those emails had been exposed.
