My school does not have any document cameras. I think I'm going to ask my principal if we can purchase one that a few teachers can share. Do any of you know where I may purchase a quality document camera/elmo for a reasonable price?
Try these. The 3rd one has free shipping. The last one is specifically for interactive whiteboards and is much cheaper. You can also submit a proposal at donorschoose.org. I have had 1 project funded. It's worth a try! http://www.quill.com/search/search....+camera&dataqpg=1&PageType=2&SearchPageType=2 http://www.document-camera.com/?gclid=CIzYhcrj8KICFY845wodZTIxlg http://www.protechprojection.com/inc/sdetail/12232 https://www.schooloutfitters.com/ca...d/PFAM8836/products_id/PRO22298#Specification
I just wanted to let you know that I think they are well worth the price. It's such a great tool in the classroom!

I dont have one myself unfortunately although I might buy it this year! I have actually had this exact one recommended to me by at least 4 other teachers though! I know it does not record sound but it can take still pictures I think. I have't heard any complaints!
Wow, thanks for alll of the tips! Now, this may be a REALLY silly question, but bear with me. We have little technology at my school so I'm not too familiar with these cameras. Are there major differences in cameras? For example, are some only meant to be hooked up to smartboards and others that can be used in place of an overhead projector? I'm only looking for the ones that can be used in place of an overhead. We don't have smartboards. Thanks, again, for your help
That $70 document camera is cool! I just don't know where I'd get the money for a LCD project too. Do your schools have extra that you can borrow?
You need some kind of projector to view what is on the document camera. It's not like an overhead where you can just shine it on a screen. I think most have a USB, but I had an old one that had and input/output cord and I connected it to my TV. DO you have a TV in your classroom?
