So, do any of you wonder if any of your coworkers are on this site? I do love A-Z bunches and I don't want to share...I want it all to myself.
I don't think any of mine are. I've recommended it to a few people (mostly ones who were new like me last year), but so far no one has struck me as someone that I know. I kind of think I'll keep it private from now on, though, since this is for me a site to get advice/air things out with fellow teachers who don't know me. I kind of like the little bit of anonymity - I don't feel like I have to watch what I say, and sometimes the perspective you get from someone removed from the situation is really helpful. I'd hate to lose that!
I am pretty sure none are. I also keep it to myself because I don't want anyone to find me when I need to vent. That is why I am not a fan on facebook or anything.
There's an English teacher from my school who pops in and out occasionally. When I first started posting, she posted that she was pretty sure that she and I taught in the same school....Sort of freaked me out a little, but it's all good. She's one of my favorite people at school (and outside of school)!
That would also.... be a no for me too. I also don't bring it up that I am no here either. I can also no longer access the duscussion forums at school, which is a bummer for my lunch break.
I don't tell anyone at my school that I come here. I don't want to know if they do either. I like our being free to speak here and I would feel weird if someone from my school was here too.
I'm sure it's possible (ask one of the moderators) but, I would think about changing your location (Louisiana) to make it more broad.
I have been trying to change my username and messaged Amanda. She told me that soon a new feature will be added so that you can just do it yourself. I think we both will have to wait until that feature is added. I think I'm alone on here from my school. No one knows I post and my state doesn't even have that many visitors. I keep it pretty anonymous though just to be safe.
hope not its nice having a place where people I see daily arent around! but I watch what I say so if they did it would be stuff they already now about me
I never tell people the website. I have talked about 'going online and venting,' but never the specific site. I don't want to share!!
good gracious I sure hope not! I also am very selfish and don't tell people at work about the site. I like being able to vent and get advice without fear of repercussions as work.
I've had a co-worker ask if it was me. I didn't acknowledge that it was! I need to be able to come here and vent.
I know I have at least one. She is a new hire and contacted me here before even interviewing. I'm watching what I say a lot more nowadays because now I feel more accountable.... Kim
I know I have recommended it for awhile to people but I don't think anyone uses it. If they are on here reading and not posting, I don't know about that either.
I've told a couple about this place, but I doubt they actually use it. I know one came to check it out, but she talked more about the lesson plan ideas and printables. Although, I did find someone on here who is from a school in my district. He teaches second grade and I THINK I know who it is. But, he doesn't seem to post on here much anymore.
I don't think so BUT it's cool if they are, 'cause they are getting some GOOD STUFF that can help them in their classrooms! I try to see the POSITIVE in every situation and in everyone. I try to stay away from "negative vibed people", but somehow they always try to be my friends @ work. Time to reload on POSITIVE ATTITUDE, BIG time! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW IF THEY ARE ON BOARD though! I want to keep this all to myself! Sometimes I need to vent and don't need it going back to school, especially if it is about that person! This is something I am selfish about and share with noone!!
I don't do anything negative on here (venting, chit-chat about co-workers), so it doesn't matter to me. I know at least one has been, in kindergarten, but she doesn't post often. My best friend is also a regular poster on here, but she knows about my woes at times and that really doesn't matter. Even if I were to change my username, my website is linked on here, anyway, and for some of what I say, I am pretty obvious.
I don't think anyone from my school is on here, but I wouldn't care if they were. I don't talk about school specifics or vent. I've mentioned the "teacher messsage boards" I frequent to several coworkers. So far no one has asked me the name. Someone upthread made a very good thread. Anyone could be reading here. You don't have to register and post to read.
I highly doubt it...I've actually given the sight to a co-worker before who was having a similar problem as a thread I had just read, but I don't think she took my advice...or if she did, she never mentioned it...
I highly doubt that anybody from my area is on here. If they are, that is okay, I don't vent on here! I just give ideas and ask for ideas.
I like having the ability to vent without anyone in the school knowing that I am venting. I am confident that no one in my district on on the site. We are such a small district, the chances of anyone else being on is pretty remote anyway.
I've recommended this site to my former department (I switched from SS to LA) and will continue to do so. I don't have a ton of other online teachers to help me think through those unique scenarios, so it might as well be my colleagues.
I think no. Although I have found out how small the teaching world can be. I have found a friend of a friend, although I don't think she knows of the connection (ooh, it's a mystery!)
I sure hope not...this is my venting place, and I also want to keep you all to myself. I get the best ideas and advice from here!
