Do you live in the same town that you work in?

I live about 25 minutes from my school. I've worked at three different schools, and the closest I've lived is 20 minutes. I have never seen any of my kids outside of school here, but in Idaho I only saw students 2-3 times (in 3.5 years). It was a small town, so I'm surprised I didn't see them more often. At first I wanted to live closer, but now I appreciate living a little farther away.

I lived 10 miles from my last school and I'm 22 miles from my new school....so....never. They do call me though! I just got a message from a former student today.

I live in the town where I teach. I encounter students everywhere: grocery store, Walmart, restaurants, even in my own driveway. There are students all over my neighborhood.

I live in another town & another county which is less than 30 minutes away. While my initial efforts were to find something close to home it's worked out. I don't mind the separation of work environment vs personal environment. I definitely do not run it anyone from school. The times I have, is because I've in an area where it's in coworker's neighborhood.

In my case it does matter even if I was in my neighborhood district. This area is so huge that the chances of running into someone from school is extremely slim.
