I'm preparing for an interview for tomorrow afternoon. I am feeling super confident & positive, as well as beyond prepared thanks to everyone on this board!

I was just wondering what are some questions you ask when you're asked "Do you have any questions for us?" I usually explain how involved/interested I am in technology to prepare students as they grow in the 21st century and ask what role technology plays within the district. (I tend to stick to this on the districts that I know have the funds to support technology) I also talk about how I advised a Student Council for students for 2 years and ask what, if any, opportunities there are for teachers to be involved outside of the classroom.

    What do you ask?

Thanks! I know you've spoken about being on hiring committees, so your response really helps :)

If you look under the tips section here there is a list of questions to ask during the interview. I asked some of the exact questions today.

What a coincidence! I was going to start a thread on this very topic!

Well, I have a (non-teaching) interview this Thurs. The interview site is an hr away, but the work site is 30 min away. I definitely plan to ask:

Will I have to come here (the interview site) on an on-going basis for any meetings, in-services, etc.?

Go to the top of the page. Instead of being on the discussion board click tips. The information is under job interviews. Good luck ladies!

I had an interview today and asked:

"Do you have a new teacher mentoring program?"
"How does your district support professional development?"
"What are you most proud of about your school?"

Ms. I, is that a Boston in your avatar? I just adopted one about 2 months ago and I'm in love with him!

Your questions all seem more specific to the school district than mine are. Should I go with what I have or something like what everyone has been posting?

Why not do a little of both? Ask what you want to know... DO NOT ASK SALARY QUESTIONS, but maybe throw some district specific ones in too... I will post a link to the other page if I can.

Yeah I definitely won't ask about salary. I've been living on a sub salary for 2 years so as long as it's not that I'd be happy! Haha

I would like to ask what the position I'm interviewing for. They advertised for tenure track, leave replacements & per diem subs. I asked on the phone today & the woman said there was multiple positions and I can ask tomorrow.

That would be acceptable. If you are a new teacher I might ask some of the suggested questions about support, etc. Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much! I'm really hoping it's something more than the per diem position. I've been doing that for 2 years and feel beyond ready now for my own room..much more so than last year or the year before.
