We just had the entire idea of writing SLOs (Student Learning Objectives) thrust upon us on Friday. Our presenter crammed a 6 hour training into 1.5 hours, which left most everyone feeling I'm now trying to look at the process more objectively and figure out exactly how it works with SWD and IEPs. On the surface, it appears to be counterintuitive, like two opposing factions of the law. So, anyone have any tips, suggestions, resources, etc about this process. I am just trying to wrap my head around it, and make it something that I do besides just following a directive. I feel like all of this adds up to more and more layers, without meaningful instruction. With the addition of the pre/post assessments associated with SLOs, my grade level students will take 40+ major assessments throughout the school year. We have 36 weeks of school
