I'm thinking of starting a blog... particularly, about teaching in a progressive school. (Alternative school)

Anyone else have a blog? I haven't done one before. I am curious if I should do it just for myself, or have the kids add to it... or perhaps that would be a seperate blog.

    Can I see yours?

    Thanks!

    Jessica

I have one. It is somehting I write on to keep my family and friends in the loop. Here is the link:http://love4everandalways.blogspot.com/

Friend of mine is going to have one this year for her students to write on. She will have students have a job of journaling in the blog for their parents to read. I think it is a neat idea I just don't know how lagistically pull it off. I love bloging when I can remember to.

ok.. I started it. I wanted to create a blog that shows what life is like in my classroom (as it's quite different from other schools.)

Let me know what you think... is it to pretentious? Wordy? Boring?
I think it will get better when I get some pictures up, and start talking about what goes on in my classroom.

I clicked on it and just scolled down hoping for some visuals and maybe a break from the black and white. You wanted opinions....it needs some "Flavor"! Too blah. I won't read it...and I WANT to, but it's too blah!!
Spice it up for us!! I want to know what Progressive schools are!!

Do I have a blog? I have five, and I just got back from the huge BlogHer conference last night! (Amy Sedaris and Elizabeth Edwards, teachers!)

One personal blog and four business blogs. The blogroll on my personal blog is MOSTLY made up of teacher/education blogs.

I have a blog on Yahoo! groups that works like a listserv. Students & parents can either read the messages online or read subscribe and have them delivered by email. I post only school items on it.

    My Classroom Blog/Listserv

I've tried a blog on MySpace for students, but I haven't done much with it. I put it up because the kids do so much on MySpace, but they've not shown much of an interest in it. I'm planning on deleting it . . . maybe tonight if I get a chance, so don't be surprised if it's not there if you look.

    My School MySpace

I blog on a regular basis on my personal MySpace site. I do have one through Blogger, but I switched to MySpace when my friends all went there. I have all the blogs as "friends only".

I have a blog with xanga and myspace. I usually post the same blog on both, because different people read both sites.

Ummmm . . . did everyone who posted links to their blogs get a "scolding" from a member via PM, or was it just me?

Maybe it was someone trying to be helpful?:hugs:
Did you really see it as a scolding? It wasn't meant to be. I just asked her if she realized she had posted links to ALL of her sites and she replied yes, she knew.
That's all I said to you right Ima Teacher? :)

Yes, it seemed very much like a scolding. I thought I'd violated some kind of rule by posting them or that you were warning everyone who posted links. Of course I realized I posted those three links . . . actually more like two because one will be taken off as soon as I get my verification email from the company, because that's what we were talking about and others had posted one or more sites.

I'm a bit geeky by nature, so I maintain a lot of websites/spaces in addition to the blog ones I mentioned.

I have a personal blog, yet I used to have a classroom blog and it worked really well. However, I had uploaded it through this program called Fantastico to my domain, which wasn't to my benefit in the end because there were spam robots who attacked the journal.

But all in all, I believe I've been a blogger in general since 2002.

I enjoyed your blog, but the black and white contrast made my eyes hurt. I saw sun spots. :)
I think your school sounds really cool though. How nice to be able to have all that free choice time and the kids are still learning!

Someone else mentioned the colors being harsh. I changed it... it should be a little softer on the eyes now.
