Watching a few of my students as the school year ticks down, I wonder. The vast, vast majority of my kids are on grade level or above, academically. Hooray. But I am ending this year worrying about the behavior of some of them in the 3rd grade, which at our school is something of a big step. I have a couple of kids who can't sit still, can't listen, can't get along with others, can't not throw things/roll on the floor/grab others. Yes, I'm sure next years' teachers will likely follow accommodations and try their own tricks of the trade, but golly, I'm worried about those whose behavior and social immaturity will start making them noticeably problematic.
