Do you always laminate your bulletin board items?

I'm new and I just bought two Carson Dellerosa Bulletin Board sets. Should I laminate them before putting them up ... or what do you do?

well obviously laminating them will help them last longer. I laminated EVERYTHING when I was a new teacher. So now I still have them in perfect condition, but I don't use bb sets anymore. They tend to be boring. I like making my own.

but if there were expensive and something you know you will want to use many times - YES

Some teachers in my building laminate everything. They use up so much laminate that we always run out. I don't laminate things unles it's going to be handled. If it's going to stay on the wall, then I don't laminate it. I just take extra care when pulling staples out if I want to reuse it.

    Plus,,,,eco girl here....paper is recyclable, laminate isn't

terptoteacher, good point about if it's going to stay away from kids and not a chance of getting tore up.
BUt I think laminating something you will use again and again IS a good idea. It's not only cheaper in the long run, but you aren't continuing to buy bb sets.

I do, because the sun fades things in my classroom.

I do also. It seems to keep things looking nice for longer. I don't have a lot of stuff that I laminate, so I don't feel like I am "wasting" the film.

I don't do bulletin board things that not be handled. I don't like taking the time to laminate and cut it out if I don't have to. Too many other things to do.

No I don't laminate because my bulletin boards are in the hallway and consist of student work, not bought items.

I do with the stuff I buy but only at the beginning of the year when Office Depot does free laminating for teachers. I avoid using the schools because I know its very costly.

The one thing that is a must for me is calendar numbers.

I also laminate thins and then I can write on them with a Vis a Vi marker and wipe off like an over head. Its great for my test, quiz and project board.

I laminate everything. My P buys lots of laminating film because most of us laminate a lot.

I laminate items that will be handled by students as well as my bulletin board items. They last forever and don't seem to fade out.
