Just wondering if we have any Journalism or Yearbook teachers on here. I was asked to teach Journalism/Yearbook this year for sophomores. We have no real curriculum for the class other than the TEKS that I printed out. I was just wondering what kind of projects that you did with your classes or if you have any amazing lessons you have taught that you wouldn't mind sharing.

I will be the newspaper and yearbook adviser next year at my middle school. I designed the middle school yearbook last year for my previous district and have worked on school publication staffs throughout my scholastic and collegiate careers.

I am planning to teach a crash course on yearbook writing, layout and design, typography, advertising, and photography during the first month of school. Then we will start putting the book together. I'll do the same thing for the newspaper staff and then we'll publish once a month.

How did things go for you this year?
