    Hello,

I have a question regarding whether charter school service years transfer to other districts for movement on the payscale. I'm under the impression that it depends on the district... but I just wanted to see if any of you have any experience.

    Thanks.

    In AZ, yes, usually.

NJ, highly doubtful. My district only counts NJ public school experience...and that only if it's not old experience with no gaps in service.

I am not sure, but I am wondering too because I am leaving a charter school for a public school in AZ and want to know if I'll get credit for my three years. I will find out next week if I do or not when I attend a new teacher seminar.

In IL, it depends on the district. Read some of their teacher contracts if they have them posted online. I've read some with districts around here, some state public school experience, some it doesn't say, and some it actually says just an accredited school.

See if the teacher contracts on posted online.

I have seen a lot of postings that specifically say that you will start at step 0. I'm hoping I can find a job that will transfer my 5 years in NC to MI. Well, I hoping I can find a job in general, LOL. The 5 years would be great.
