Hi! I'm new around here. :)

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else uses Discovery Streamline and how you like it. I use it fairly often, especially when I'm introducing background info on a new unit. Everyone around here uses it, and I was curious to see if it's popular anywhere else!

Sunnygal- Is that the same as United Streaming? I know that is tied in with Discovery. We use that in my district, and I absolutely love it! I like that you don't have to use the entire video. I usually take the clips and embed them into my powerpoints. I've also used teachertube, but I've found that there isn't as much on there for my grade levels.

I got our schools password for United streaming late into the school year last year. I really want to use it a lot more this year as there seems to be a lot of interesting things on it for Ancient history.

We just had a training on United Streaming. It seems like a really great thing to use. Our music teacher uses it alot. I can't wait to get into it and see what exactly is on it.

I used United Streaming (I think that's the same thing) and like it a lot...in fact RELY on it, as it has great resources that have become part of my curriculum

We use it all the time since the kids all have different levels of prior knowledge! I really like the Magic Schoolbus videos. Last year one of my kids asked me why they (the Magic schoolbus kids) were always learning what WE were learning

Unless they have updated it I really don't care for it. I used it two years ago and found so many of the videos ridiculously boring. I'm glad to hear they are offering Magic Schoolbus vids now though as those sorts of things are at least designed better. When I used it all I found were documentaries made in the 80s by what had to be a small high school's AV club.

The Magic Schoolbus videos have been up for a really long time, but yes you do have to sift through the videos for good stuff.

I used it while solo teaching during student teaching and loved it! It was a great way to introduce concepts and help build background knowledge for the unit. I don't know of any other teachers that used it in my building.

Yes, some of the videos are outdated and boring, but there is also some really great content available.
