This year will be my first year teaching. I'm going to teach second grade. Is the cloud or stop light discipline plan alright to use with my students? I read and loved the topic on cute discipline plans, but I want to know if most of them can be used with my students. Is it a good idea to use chimes or a wooden train whistle for signaling a change of activity?

I'm 1st grade...But I use the 3-bell chimes for reading station activities. It takes training whatever you do, but each bell means something different.

    1st Bell: Clean up
2nd Bell: Line up beside their table quietly
3rd Bell: Rotate to the next table.

I think that either discipline plan would be fun- students at this age still enjoy the "fun" of learning. I am using a cow bell for my kiddos this year and when I taught 3rd- I used cars and a parking lot theme discipline plan...
