Difficulties Passing the VCLA

Hello! I ended up taking the VCLA 4 times and on my most recent attempt, I went from a 453 to 492. What really boosted my score was that the college had help sessions for the people who had issues passing. So, if you have problems passing like most of us had, take whatever help sessions or tutoring you need, be it a writing coach or a reading comprehension tutor. Trust me, it will help you out big time!
 
You're definitely not alone. VCLA writing can be frustrating, especially the summary part. I recently had a similar experience where I passed other Praxis exams easily but had to retake the writing subtest for VCLA. It helped when I started practicing summaries using real passages and getting feedback. Also, I found education connection to be a helpful resource for organizing my study plan and finding tools that targeted my weak spots.
What I want to say is don’t get discouraged. You’ve clearly got the skills, it’s just about cracking the test format.
