We had a breakfast brought in and they gave us a bag with the school logo. It was nice. It never occured to me to expect a bonus until I saw this thread! Happy holidays, everyone!

    Bonus? What is that??
We had our Christmas party that was 28 dollars a person with NO open bar, and a staff luncheon which we all had to contribute to in order to eat.
Worst class ever, worst Christmas at school ever. Nothing from P. and not one card or gift from students. It is not as though I expect a gift from my kids, but I like when they bring me cards. Nothing. It is depressing. Thank goodness I am on break for two weeks.

We had a lovely Christmas Luncheon on the last day of school. We also received a bonus, but it wasn't necessarily a "Christmas Bonus." Each staff member (certificated and classified) received 2% of their salary. Not too much for me, but still a wonderful surprise indeed!

We were promised a nice lunch buffet, which was really just a ham and some wontons the principal brought in. No bonus, no card.

My husband got a nice bonus, though.

3sons-what industry do you work in? As I job hunt, I'm wondering how the heck I break into these lucrative careers with only teaching on my resume...

Financial services. If you're job hunting with a teaching degree, your best bets are in a training program or in project management, I would imagine. For either, it helps to gain some knowledge of the financial industry and/or technology. It's also not a particularly easy field to break into just now.

I didn't get in with a teaching degree, but I didn't get in with any other useful kind of degree either -- I majored in psychology as an undergrad.

Our bonus was 3 extra days of Christmas break - aka snow days last week! :p We are having a party on January 4th before we go back to school - so that will be fun!
