    Hello!

I am thinking of implementing a Dictionary Center @ my Literacy Centers this year.

Can someone please explain to me how the center would exactly work?

Is there a worksheet or any accountability for it?

    Thanks!

    :hugs:

You could create a response sheet. Something like:

    I found this word:___________________
    I found it on page:
The guidewords on the page are:________________

It means ______________________________ (should be in student's own words)

Here's a sentence with my word:

That may be pretty hard considering most first graders are learning to read.

I have dictionaries in my writing center and sometimes make the dictionary a focus for the week there.

Maybe have words in a bucket and the kids can pull the word out, find it in the dictionary (I am assuming youre using kid friendly dictionaries with pictures) and have them draw the word and use it in a sentence and the highlight the word.
