Destin FL

Hello all! Has anyone been to Destin FL?? We would love to take a road trip this summer but we are clueless as to the best place to stay. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Destin has a large assortment of accommodations ranging from private condos in high rises to small hotels on the beach. It will probably depend upon how much you want to spend. I googled "Destin lodging" and came up with tons of hits. The oil spill has been mostly cleared up and tourism is picking up. Destin is a beautiful place to stay. If you like to visit places in the area, you may want to take a trip over to Seaside. That's the town where the Truman Show was filmed.

I wasn't sure if it's really worth the extra $$ to get a place on the beach? Right now, still checking out things to do...I'll check Seaside out too. Thanks!!

 

It will be expensive on the beach, but well worth it! If you have the extra money, maybe you could get a place with a kitchenette so you can save on food. If you let me know what particular things you are interested in doing, I can come up with some ideas. I live near that area.

 

We stayed on the beach at Okaloosa Island. We just drove into Destin for shopping. When I go to the beach, I want to stay ON the beach, so I will pay extra to stay beachfront.

We had a room with a sun room that walked out onto the beach, a small living area, a sleeping area, and a full kitchen. We ate breakfast and lunch in the room, and then we went out for supper. It saved money, and we got to spend more time on the beach.

MainSail in San Destin on beach is where we stay in condo . Right across street from outlet mall.

 

So many choices!! Checking out the waterpark and Mainsail now
