I am about to bust with excitement. I know I am behind the times, but I am just now reading Debbie Fuller's Literacy Work Stations. I am only on like chapter 3, but I think it is wonderful! I am curious - how do you use this in your classroom? I can't wait to read more!

I bought the book last year. I used a lot of the things in there. Her new math workstations book is even better. In my opinion!!! :)

Okay so I just realized that in my message above I said Debbie Fuller - whoops! I meant Debbie Diller. Silly auto-correct on my phone!

Oh goodness! Is it really? I guess I will need to go and check out Amazon and see if I can find it! Thanks for the info.

Yes. It is hands down one of the best professional books I have found.
Now you have to remember that I am new to teaching so for me it really gives me a good grasp on how to teach math and what I was missing. It also gave me the answers as to why my students never caught on with this or that.
Showed me what I was lacking in my teaching.

It is pretty expensive. I think $30. I did not find to many on amazon since it is brand new. They maybe out there now though.

I like a lot about Debbie Diller and her methodology. While I am not as creative as she is, she explains things in such a non-threatening way that even I can understand it! The photos she includes are great! Do I do everything she recommends in that book? No. Would I like to? Probably. I just got the math book, and plan to utilize it during math instruction!

I've looked at her Spaces and Places book. I do not like that one as much.

I attended one of her workshops last year and I loved it. If you ever get a chance to attend one of her workshops, it will be time well spent!

I am curious as to whether or not her ideas for Literacy Centers would work with our district mandated Treasures Program? I'd be interested in reading the book if I knew it was something that I could integrate.

I discovered her last year and fell in love. I changed a lot in my room based on her books and will continue to do so this year. her advice is practical and comes from a teacher, not from someone who spent 1 or 2 years in the classroom and then moved on. I like that.

I did the same thing. I would love to get my hands on a copy of Spaces and Places.

Debbie Diller's literacy stations definitely tie in nicely with Treasures. I used a lot of her station ideas instead of the flip chart workstations the program came with. Also- Really Good Stuff has a great pocket chart to be used with managing workstations. :)

I've used her book for four or five years. I've started blending her stations with Daily 5.

Her working with small groups book is good too. I have Spaces and Places book that I got at her conference, but I think you could probably find pictures of classrooms online.

Thank you! I actually found a copy of the book amongst my professional resources today! A friend had given that and another of her books to me a few years ago! I'm looking forward to reading them!

We also use Treasures. However, I think it will definitely work, especially during small group time.
