I am planning on using the Daily 5 next year, but I am concerned about space for my students personal book boxes. Does anyone have any ideas for something to store book in easily without too much space. I would also like something that students can see their name easily.

What about using magazine holders. That's what I'm using next year.

I bought mine at Ikea. :)
I used their cheapest magazine holders.
    Worked like a charm.
Each student had 3 reading books, a pencil and a little writing book in it. So whenever we were about to start writing, they could just go from reading to writing instantly. (No disruption from their backpacks or shelves.)

I use my book boxes from really good stuff. One teacher uses canvas bags that hang on the back of the student chairs. Our chairs have a hook that works perfectly.

I've had mine for two years and they still look like new. I think they hold up very well and are top quality. :) Last year, I ordered some extra and used them to hold things like Accelerated Math folders, 8X11 gameboards, mini offices, etc. I have had really good luck with them.

I just ordered some as well - I am going to use them to store some of my stuff as well. Also, they are a good price for how many you get from what I've seen shopping around. I have other ones from them and they hold up very well.

I have my students keep their materials in gallon baggies. I write their names on the front in Sharpie. They keep 6-7 books in there, and some kept a spiral notebook at well.

I kept 4 buckets on the floor against the wall under my whiteboard, and labeled them A-G, H-K, etc. Bags were kept there when not in use.

Kids were actually able to find their bags very quickly. I think they would just recognize the books through the bag and know it was theirs. It takes up very little room. I don't know where I'd put individual book boxes.

I really like this idea! It won't take up alot of space and the bags can easily be replaced if they are torn or are just worn out from use. Good idea! :)

I like the idea, too, nattles! I had the Target bins that took up a TON of space (30 kids needed six shelves!). What a great space-saving way to manage their things!

I really like the idea of gallon size bags because of the space. I have been thinking about where I was going to place all those boxes in my room.
