Well my work hours are being cut. Now my full time job has become part-time.
Me and my husband can't make it with me working less hours.
Anybody here ever filed for partial unemployment before, how does it work? When can I file??
    My new schedule started today.
P.S: I know ALOT of teachers are out of work because of Covid-19 and I should be glad I have a job, but we need my 40 hours to make it . My heart goes out to all those who have lost their job because of this virus ❤

In California, EDD says to file as soon as you are reduced. I only know about full reduction in force, complete loss of job. But all kinds of things may be in flux with all that's going on.

Are you still expected to teach while working less hours?

I am not any expert, but I'd apply asap. They may tell you that you need to wait ___ weeks, and they may not. There has been a lot of federal $ put out there for this type of situation.
I have heard unemployment offices are really time consuming and difficult to get in contact with in some places. That's another good reason to "get on it. " I am so sorry about the hours you lost. I wish you the best.

It's worth applying for. I got it when I was substituting 2 days a week. That was 10 years ago, though.
