I know I always enjoyed the book threads on PT; I got quite a few good recommendations. Maybe some posters here would enjoy participating in a similar thread here:)
Right now, I have started a new series by Elly Griffiths, the Magic Men mystery series. Sort of a historical cozy mystery series. I liked the first book, Zig Zag Girl and am looking forward to starting the second book, Smoke and Mirrors. I also just borrowed the new Hayley Mills autobiography from the library--it's gotten good word of mouth, so I'm looking forward to that, too.

Any other good reads to recommend?

I have recently read The Last Garden in England, and the latest in Peter Robinson’s series featuring Inspector Banks. If you want a really long series set in England, Elizabeth George is the BEST!

I am coming over from PT and enjoyed those threads too!

I really enjoyed Atomic Habits by James Clear. I learned a lot, and it was easy to put into practice. I read The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah and I found it okay but not as good as some of her others.

I wish I could recommend a good newer book, but I am studying for a licensing exam. I haven't been active in my other field in years and have forgotten a lot. It may take me about 4 more months to feel ready to take it. I decided I'd do it b/c they'll let me work part time from home. I'd have stayed on teaching if I could have worked part time from home! :) But almost 30 yrs in teaching was really enough for me. I will start reading more for fun after I ace that exam. haha Positive thinking! I'll be happy to pass!

Not to mention a certain book, but just a word to say that I love Overdrive and Hoopla! I always have an abundance of ebooks to choose from, and they are free!

Just to follow up on my first post, I finished the Hayley Mills autobiography (Forever Young) and overall enjoyed it. If you are a Disney fan and like vintage movies, it is a nostalgic read and will probably put you in the mood to rewatch her old movies.

I really liked The Dictionary of Lost Words read recently. I'm reading cozy mysteries by Abby Collette right now. Nice brain candy!

Yes, those are my favorite kinds of books. My book club read both ice cream books and chatted online with the author. She's really nice.

Hoopla is a free service libraries may carry and you can download audio books.

I'm addicted to almost everything written by Seanan McGuire and V.E. (Victoria) Schwab. They both write for every age level from middle school to adult fiction. Both could be considered dark fantasy in terms of genre.

It's like Overdrive and Libby. Your library has to belong to the service but you can find out if you go to the website and find your library. Then, all you do is sign in with your library card if your library is listed. I find that they have a better variety of Ebooks and audiobooks than other library apps.

Thanks for mentioning Hoopla! I had never heard of it before, and it turns out my library has it, so now I have a lot more options!

That's awesome. My library did not have it for a long time so I had borrowed my mom's library card from a different town to sign up. Now, my library has it! I can't love it more!!!

Yep! I'm reading the country store series. I grew up in that area, so when she mentions the little, surrounding towns, I can picture them perfectly.

I also read two of her books set in the Northeast, but I don't remember where exactly. I need to continue reading that series, but my library didn't have it through Overdrive. Maybe I'll check Hoopla.
