What have you all been watching lately? On Netflix, I’ve been rewatching all seasons of The Office. I’ve always been watching 90 Day Fiancé every Sunday night. I haven’t watched this much TV in years. Sometimes, though, it’s just background noise while I’m working.
Desperate Housewives popped up on my Hulu and I remember it being popular when it was out, so I decided to check it out. It's the perfect nonsense that I need during this time and there are something like 8 seasons. As far as current shows, I'm really liking the Mrs. America mini series that Hulu is doing. It's about Phyllis Shlafley fighting the Equal Rights Amendment and also goes into what was happening on the "other side" with Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, etc. They put out a new episode every Wednesday.
I watched Little Fires Everywhere and The Outsider. Now I’m working on both Better Call Saul, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and After Life. I’ve saved a few others, including Mrs. America, to start when I finish the others or get bored with them.
I love crime shows. Criminal on Netflix has caught my attention. And I’m rewatching Hinterland and Shetland. For feel good shows, I’m waiting for new seasons of Chesapeake Shores and Good Witch to come out.
I do this at times as well. I'm "watching" some home reno competitions on Prime while I'm working at times because I don't need to pay attention, but I've found that I do school work better with voices in the background than with music.
I am not much of a TV watcher, and it takes a lot to hold my attention, but Nailed It! totally does. It's kind of a baking competition, but the contestants know they are mediocre and the challenges they have to create are totally out of their league. Everyone has a sense of humor, and everyone is having a good time, even if a judge winds up spitting out what he or she is tasting.
I'm not a binge watcher/TV series guy. When stay home started, I watched "The Last Ship" and started with S1 then skipped to last S5. Perfect. Missed all the bs in the middle. Since then it's been movies at night. Unexpected best movie I saw recently: "Snowpiercer".
We are watching Arrested Development, which 8s different than our usual choices. We only watch TV in the evenings after supper and before bed, and we only watch one show at a time. We only have streaming services. No cable or broadcast tv.
I LOVED Arrested Development. It's totally my sense of humor. I saw Veep is also now on Hulu and I've heard really good things. That's going to be my next show to check out.
I saw the first two episodes of Arrested Development and couldn't get in to it. I don't know why, but I might try again later. I have heard really good things about Julia Luis Dreyfus on Veep and I will definately watch it. I loved her on Seinfeld. I just finished all seven seasons of Mad Men and it was great until the main character spoiled it after season five. I still liked it, but, man, I wish I could rewrite the main guy's role in seasons 5, 6, and 7. I would take him off the show. I am currently watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon and The Next Great British Baker on Netflix. I also watch reruns of gymnastics competitions. I am obsessed with food shows and gymnastics (I was a gymnast for a brief period of time before I decided falling off equipment was not fun).
Past shows-Mad Men!! I never saw it when it was on, but watched it on Netflix. Also, my son and I have been re-watching Beavis and Butthead! Other than that, I love all of the Real Housewives shows. (Guilty pleasure). Other than that, I don't really watch anything current.
Anybody watch the Masked Singer? It started as background noise show, but my husband and I have really grown to like it.
I loved Zooey's Extraordinary Playlist. I watched the pilot of Council of Dads, but my DVR never recorded the rest of it. I'll watch it on Hulu when I get a chance.
I started watching a few more shows on Acorn. Dead Still is really interesting. Deadwater Fell was really disturbing. There are a few more that I need to check out. There's an Acorn Fans Facebook page that gives a lot of good recommendations.
I watch so much TV that I record something just about every day of the week, plus have my old faves. I'll just give some of my all-time favorite list of ALL time. In no particular order: I Love Lucy Family Ties Gidget (starring Sally Field) Beverly Hills, 90210 Melrose Place The Rookie 9-1-1 S.W.A.T. Cobra Kai
My DSS loves that show. He suggested it to us, but DH didn’t like it at all. I had read the book a long time ago. The only time I ever watch television by myself is when I work in my classroom, and that doesn’t seem like a wise choice.
My husband did not like that show, but I love it. I cannot wait for the next season, especially after reading the sequel, which I hope they use some of the content from.
I have the book so I'm hoping to read it this summer so I can watch it on Hulu. I have a thing about not watching something before I read the book unless I know for certain I will never read the book.
I just finished the most recent series of Queer Eye. At the start of all this I had a difficult time focusing on new shows, so I rewatched some favorites. Now if I watch something new I want it to be something I expected, like a Hallmark movie. I think my brain has finally adjusted to whatever was going on with it, and I feel like I can safely branch back out into more adventurous offerings.
An old favorite that has become the new favorite again is Say Yes to the Dress. I can have that show running in the background for hours while I do things on my computer, stretch, or exercise.
I've been rewatching The Good Place--this may be a timeless favorite for me. I discovered a little gem on Prime by the name of The Booth at the End. You can probably watch the entire series in one binge if you want. We cancelled Netflix, but I may bring it back to watch the last season of Lucifer.
We just finished the most recent season of How to Get Away with Murder. We are also watching Better Call Saul.
